CAL FIRE Premium Cotton Short Sleeve Shirt By First Tactical
printed about ½ inch tall
What is “Add your name (DTF print)”?
This lets us print your name right onto the shirt for you. We use DTF (Direct‑to‑Film) printing: your name is printed onto a thin film and then heat‑pressed onto the fabric. You pick the name, the color (white or black), and where it goes on the shirt — and we make that shirt just for you.
It comes out as a clean, flat printed name about ½ inch tall, bonded to the shirt. It is a print on the surface of the shirt — it is not embroidery (stitching) and not a sewn‑on name tape.
Heads up: adding a name adds at least a week to delivery, since each one is custom‑made. And because it’s made just for you, personalized shirts are final sale and can’t be returned.

The CAL FIRE T-shirt that holds up to a season of station laundry. First Tactical builds these to a higher fabric spec than the entry-level cotton tee — better stitching, a slightly heavier hand, and a cut that doesn't shrink down two sizes after the third wash. Worth the bump if you're going to wear it 100+ times.
What you're seeing in the photo
Crew-neck short-sleeve in deep navy. Subtle CAL FIRE Maltese cross logo screen-printed on the left chest — quiet enough for off-duty wear, recognizable enough at the station. Standard tee cut: not slim-athletic, not relaxed-baggy — true to the size on the label.
Why First Tactical over the basic cotton
- Pre-shrunk cotton-poly blend instead of 100% cotton — survives station washing temperatures without losing 1-2 sizes
- Reinforced shoulder seam — the failure point on cheap tees, double-stitched here
- Higher-fidelity logo print — the Maltese stays crisp through more wash cycles
Variant choices
- Size: XS through XXL — runs true to standard men's sizing. Size up if you'll layer it under a job shirt; true-to-size for solo wear.
- Logo: Three placement / style options — pick at checkout. Most off-duty buyers go with the subtle Maltese; on-duty crews prefer the L2881-marked variant.
Where it lands in your kit
This is a Class C / off-duty / under-job-shirt layer. Wear it for PT, station chores, drilling, or off-shift. Pair with cargo pants or duty pants. Not flame-resistant — don't wear it as a wildland base layer (use Nomex for that — see our Nomex collection).
Care
Machine wash warm, tumble dry medium. The cotton-poly blend handles station washer temperatures fine. The screen-printed logo will outlast the shirt itself if you don't iron directly over it.
