This is the highest-stakes uniform you'll ever wear. The day you put this on, your family is photographing you, your chief is shaking your hand, and the city is reading your name off a program. We don't get this one wrong — and that's the entire reason this package exists.

Every piece arrives pre-built to CAL FIRE Policy 1500 specification. Coat patches sewn on. Eureka buttons set. Cuff striping correct for your rank. Hat brass mounted. Name plate engraved and pinned. You don't unbox a kit and assemble it — you unbox a Class A uniform that's already inspection-ready.

Everything in the package

This is the complete kit, not just the coat. Every item is specced to match the rest — same fabric weight, matched dye lot, regulation cut. Pieces don't get sold individually because mixing fabric weights or button styles fails inspection.

  • Class A double-breasted coat — wool-blend regulation weight, two parallel rows of Eureka brand gold buttons, gold cuff striping appropriate to your rank (single stripe = captain, double = battalion chief, etc.), CAL FIRE Maltese-cross shoulder patches sewn on before shipping
  • Matched Class A trousers — same fabric and dye lot as the coat, full lining, hemmable for proper break
  • White long-sleeve dress shirt — regulation fold-over collar, French cuff or button cuff per spec
  • Black regulation tie — proper length and width to spec
  • Belt + brass buckle — brass-toned to match your insignia and buttons
  • Black dress socks — yes, the regulation calls them out specifically; we include them
  • Class A officer cap or enlisted cap — built to the model your rank requires, with the right crown shape and brass set
  • Name plate — engraved, polished, ready to pin
  • All brass + insignia mounted — rank, branch, L2881 endorsement if applicable

Pick your delivery window

This is where most graduates and promotees go wrong: they order too late and pay $300 for what could've been a $125 build. Our pricing scales by lead time — same materials, same build quality, just compressed embroidery and brass-set queue:

Lead time Expedited shipping
4 weeks out $125
3 weeks out $150
2 weeks out $175
1 week out $225
3-day rush $300 — yes, we deliver in 3 days

Sizing: free fitting, anywhere

Three ways to get your measurements right. Pick whichever works for your situation:

  1. Walk in. Free fitting, 7 days a week, at our Redding store (991 Lake Blvd, Suite A1) or our Ione satellite (14 W. Main Street). Takes about 20 minutes with a Brannock device and our tailor on the floor.
  2. Submit measurements online. We provide a guided measurement video — most cadets complete it in 5 minutes with a partner holding the tape. We cross-check against your department's size chart on file. If anything looks off, we call before we cut.
  3. Department file. If you've ordered with us before — or your department has a measurement file with us — we pull it forward. Tell us if you've gained or lost more than 10 lbs since.

Free correction within 14 days of delivery. If something's off — patches not aligned, sleeve break wrong, hem too long — we cover the return shipping and re-tailor. We've never had a package leave our shop with a known defect, but if you find one, we make it right at our cost.

What you're paying us for

You can buy a "complete Class A package" online from any number of vendors. Three things separate this one:

  1. L2881-endorsed builds. If you're a card-holding L2881 member or your station requires the endorsement, this kit qualifies. Most generic vendors don't carry the endorsement.
  2. 100% online ordering. We are the only shop where you can complete a full Class A order without setting foot in a tailor's. Our process — from sizing to spec sign-off to shipped product — is built for cadets at academies hours from a uniform shop.
  3. Human spec review on every package. A former firefighter on our staff signs off on every Class A build before it ships. Patch alignment, brass placement, fold-collar spec — all verified, every time.

Before you order

Two things to confirm:

  • Your rank. The cuff striping, hat style, and brass set differ by rank. Make sure you're ordering for the rank you'll hold on the day you wear it (i.e., post-promotion if applicable).
  • Your branch. Operations, prevention, admin, and L2881-endorsed have different patch and brass configurations. We default to operations / Maltese — change in checkout notes if you're a different branch.

Got a non-standard situation — promotion mid-order, transferring to a new branch, name change? Call (530) 215-1522. We'll re-spec without restocking the materials as long as you call before the cut date.

What's not included

Two items aren't part of this package because they're rank- or department-specific:

  • Department badge. Most CAL FIRE units issue the badge directly to you. We can source one if your department needs us to — call us.
  • White gloves (for parade or pallbearer duty). Sold separately because not every Class A wear-occasion requires them.

Ready to order? Read our complete step-by-step guide first if this is your first Class A — about 10 minutes of reading saves most cadets a return shipment. Or just call (530) 215-1522 and we'll walk you through the whole order in 15 minutes.
