The WorkRite FW82YL is a CAL FIRE-approved yellow wildland jacket, UL certified to NFPA 1977 (wildland firefighting) and NFPA 1975 (station/work wear). It's built for the Wildland-Urban Interface: a relaxed fit and bi-swing back let you swing a tool, run hose and climb a hill without the jacket fighting you. The helmet-compatible collar, radio pocket and mic clips mean it works with the rest of your gear, not against it.

Is this a Nomex jacket?
It's the modern version of the classic yellow "Nomex" brush jacket. Instead of 100% Nomex®, WorkRite uses Sigma™, an inherently flame-resistant aramid/lyocell blend. It meets the same NFPA 1977 wildland standard, and it's softer and more breathable.

What's the difference between NFPA 1977 and NFPA 1975?
NFPA 1977 is the standard for wildland firefighting protective clothing. NFPA 1975 covers emergency services work apparel, the clothes you wear around the station. Because this jacket is certified to both, it works on the fireline and on shift.

How does it fit?
It's a relaxed fit, cut to layer over a t-shirt or wildland shirt. Order your normal jacket size, and choose Long if you usually need extra sleeve and body length.
